Luxi City

From Longling the Burma road descents steeply into the Dehong lowlands, arriving in Mangshi, or Luxi City as the large city is officially known, after only a few dozen kilometres. With many Dai and Jingpo villages in the lush countryside, Luxi has a reputation for excellent pineapples and silverwork.
From the city a fast road, which will be upgraded to an expressway soon, continues along the valley. This is the route of the famous Burma Road. The mountains of Southern Luxi are a region much less developed.
