Shibaoshan Songfest 石宝山歌会

Every year at the end of the seventh lunar month, the Bai of Yunnan come together at the holy temple mountain of Shibaoshan to honour their gods and to have a good time with song and dance.

This is a three-day event: the first day is the local event where the people of Shaxi and other Jianchuan townships come for a private celebration on the mountain. The second day is now dedicated to the official events: the singing competition held at the stage below Baoxiu temple. The third day is a little more like the first day, with significantly less people attending.
