Fumin Town, a few hundred meters lower than Kunming and nestled in a fruit-growing valley, is a small county town with a slow pace. In recent years, due to improved transport links, the town has become a choice destination for wealthy Kunmingers to have a villa.
In May, all around town Yangmei or Waxberries are harvested.
A new expressway has cut down travel times from Kunming dramatically, but most busses continue on the old highway to save the toll.
