Increasingly prosperous Anning has in the last years undergone dramatic change with a wholesale replacement of the old city center, of which now only the old park remains while modern shopping centers fail to attract much attention.
Near the bus station is the old temple, now the city museum, but seemingly permanently closed. A bit further to the east is Anning's protestant church.
Anning is easily reachable from Kunming and with few attractions does not really deserve an overnight stay.
