Wuding County 武定县

Mountainous Wuding stretches all the way to the Sichuan border, its highlands inhabited by Yi and Miao, some of whom are Christian.

The county's main attraction is Lion Mountain, a temple complex a few kilometers north of the county town. Even though the main highway from Yunnan to Sichuan runs right through Wuding, most of the county remains remote. In the far northeast lies Jiyi with its spectacular cliffs.
