Deyuan was the capital of one of the six states that were united to form Nanzhao.
Situated on a hill north of modern Dengchuan, the site of Deyuan was a natural fortress with good visibility to the north and south, controlling the area around it.
The archeological site is overgrown and there is nothing to see.
